Sit down as I may have some news that will cause fainting. I also still have a working Sony Betamax machine.
Well... it works if I have the cover off and nudge the wheel a little bit. I have many tapes still. They have mostly been replaced with VHSs and then with DVDs or abandoned. A few of the films I had only on beta so they got looked at before the emergency playing treatment was needed. Need to find me a buyer !
Have a tv that is also a DVD player and a couple of VHS/DVD combos that play but don't record. Seem to be set for a while. VHS players are always available at the thrift stores and some have a return policy so if they don't work you can bring them back. I should probably stock up on a couple.
That '42 Pied Piper looks like it might be very good.
