One which comes to my mind is "What's My Line?" (1950-1967), lots of topical references, lots of dated jobs (the 1950s episodes have a lot of girdle salesmen and such), lots of women in their best mid-century dresses. What are some other historically interesting game shows? For me it would definitely have to be " The Price Is Right " - specifically the revival show after 1972 . What I find interesting after 45 years is that a lot of the games on this show are still the same now as it was back then . Some have gone completely digital of course where others haven't changed at all since 1972 - especially like the huge $ 1.00 spinning wheel before the the final showcase . The big turning point for me with this show too was Bob Barker's very last episode which made me very sad . Of course his replacement show host Drew Carey was a hopeful and pleasant surprise for me to continue watching and enjoying this show as I always had before . Thanks so much Wolf-Swordsman for this fun & nostalgic subject post .
