I also noticed that stand-up comedians seem to be slower than normal to incorporate current events into their acts. Maybe things change so fast in the 24 hour cycle these days. The term 'Yesterday's News' was never more apropos than it is today. Referencing something that happened three weeks ago is the equivalent of three years ago in decades past. People have moved on and the topic has been done (and memed) to death. The memes get forgotten but the trends continue... |
