I agree with you all that UNION PACIFIC is the ultimate Western, and I also agree with you all that is the greatest Western ever made. No sane person could deny that, I agree. Of course there will be some Beavis and Butthead clones who will have some one read this post to them, and they'll stammer their incoherent garble in protest, but I'd appreciate it if no one read this post to those illiterate dorks who refuse to admit UNION PACIFIC is the ultimate Western.
Still, some Westerns come close to challenging UNION PACIFIC, and as the obvious Western expert here, I'll name most of the contenders:
Shane Hombre Ride the High Country The Man From Colorado The Man From Laramie Bend of the River From Hell to Texas The Intruders The Bravados Walk the Proud Land Posse From Hell Bullet For a Badman Night Passage The Naked Spur The Tin Star Seven Men From Now Fort Apache Rio Grande The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence The Commancheros True Grit Rio Lobo El Dorado The Searchers The Last Hunt Gunman's Walk High Noon Along Came Jones The Westerner Springfield Rifle Ride With the Devil Bad Company Barbary Coast Money, Women, and Guns Western Union North West Mounted Police Canadian Pacific The Way West The Indian Fighter Westward Ho Hang Em High Joe Kidd (to make Eastwood's geek fans happy, since this is easily his second best Western to Hang Em High. It does have the most interesting crew of villains)
There are more, but none match the inspiration and character of UNION PACIFIC
Glad you all agree.
