Outside of those two, except for Wonder Woman which only just came out they've no success with any one else. Even Superman has only ever been a mixed success in theatres.
Marvel gave away their big properties and yet still made the MCU the phenomenon it is today which DC are struggling to replicate even with their two main characters.
DC would never have made a successful Cinematic Universe without those two unlike how Marvel was able to.
Apart from this, DC is iconic since ever unlike Marvel which is a mere upstart. And let's discuss DCEU's merits after only 4 movies vis-a-vis 16+ MCU movies, shall we? (remember this comes from an innocent bystander, not a DC fan)
- DCEU after only 3 (three!) movies has already been awarded an Oscar. And is currently discussed to become nominated as first CBM for best film/director this very year. MCU after 16+ movies has NADA (that's: zero, null), not even talk (lol).
- DCEU after only 4 movies has already several iconic musical themes, such as the WW e-chello one everybody associates the franchise with. MCU after 16+ has nothing of the sort (to be fair the Avenger 1 theme is artistically sound but did not become iconic).
- DCEU (or DC for that matter, lol) has nothing that is a 0%-10% critical rating failure (like some of their TV shows) paired with the lowest viewer ratings ever, i.e,. an abominable pattern of super flops and media embarrassments. DC has very successful shows, but smartly outsourced them to accommodate its more creative, varied, less formulaic output, thereby being able to create different versions of its heroes,.
- DCEU has the first super-successful female-led CMB (direction and title lead) after a history of discrimination (under MCU too, just ask Patty Jenkins) – and has created an unprecedented media sensation everybody even ppl who never have seen a CBM are aware of (even my mom and pop who have never seen CMBs know about it, that is what makes MCU boys soo very very jealous, lol). Uh, comparatively, MCU after 16+ still prefers to dabble in raccoon turd and choses to re-rehash spider poo-poo heads for Sony, and only now tries to copy DCEU's approach after DC cleared the way - sad;
- DCEU is the first franchise with two black leads (female and male) and a female antagonist in one movie (SS); MCU after 16+ movies is announcing a black male lead after DC successfully did it, deplorable!
- the 4 DCEU films were all very successful commercially. They made more money than the first 4 MCU films in 2009-2012 (money making is the only thing MCU is really good at...); this despite the fact that MCU is big in overseas and relentlessly milking the super-lucrative children market with it's formulaic movies - and thus should always have a natural commercial advantage over DC!
- Talk about bad continuity in MCU (rainbow bridge, 10 years debacle etc), you do not need the movies for that: MCU is not even able to get it's own name right, the term "Cinematic" does not entail crummy TV shows and unsellable comics - even though everybody will understand that MCU wants people to forget about that stinker TV dreck it produces...

Last but not least, MCU will never claw back the Fox-Men, and that is an unrelated yet deeply encouraging and rewarding parting thought. You have the right to accept your defeat by remaining silent
