DC wouldn't be as dumb as Marvel to sell the movies rights to their flagship characters.

Well, it is a pretty big deal considering that MCU still hasn't made a superhero movie with a female lead after 9 years and 17 movies. And MCU is only making Captain Marvel as a reaction to WB announcing a Wonder Woman movie first.
