1. Forget flowers and move to the connection between countries.
2. Not the Dreyfus Affair, the trial of Oscar Wilde, nor the abdication of Edward VIII. Film plots are irrelevant in most cases. Work on the titles.
I was working on the angle of their being the national flowers of the current members (both permanent and non-permanent) of the UN Security Council, but that doesn't quite work. Are international organizations a good angle, by any chance?
