In other words, I'm pointing out how creatively bankrupt the FoX-Men movies are. In this context, Grounded means taking something that should be soaring and making sure it's trapped on the ground where it can't do anything. In other words, this proves that Marvel likes the general direction of the X-Men films. No they yielded to FOX and have no power over how the show goes. It was the price they had to pay to get some other characters back from FOX that no one realized FOX owned. The dictionary wholly agrees with me. It uses the grounded airplane as an example.
