No they yielded to FOX and have no power over how the show goes. It was the price they had to pay to get some other characters back from FOX that no one realized FOX owned. The dictionary wholly agrees with me. It uses the grounded airplane as an example. Post a source. The dictionary uses "airplane stuck on the ground permanently" as an example of being "grounded". Not flying, not soaring. Just stuck on the ground where it can't be used to full potential. Or a kid being "grounded". Means they're stuck and can't go out and do anything fun or cool.
