In a truly awesome way. Yes. The ones that needed everything else to be interesting to make up for the leads. Yes it was an awesome Origin of the Grocer story. But come on-every movie has supporting characters. You cant say they exist to make up for him not having parental issues. He didnt any back story. He's a stranger in town. It's better than the usual "Walks off into the sunset" or whatever usual Gunslinger ending we'd get. And yes, supporting characters can make up for a bland protagonist. In fact, for the Spaghetti Westerns I'd say that's there prime purpose.
