It's all opinion, and will probably be limited to directors with relatively small filmographies Tarkovsky - seven features, all well above average IMO Wong Kar-wai - ten features, one so-so ( My Blueberry Nights), nothing I'd call a failure David Lynch - ten features, only one more or less accepted huge failure ( Dune) Man do we have different tastes in films, haha. Music, too, I guess, although I think we have more overlap there. Some David Lynch films I like a lot, though.
