Legendary French screen star Jean Rochefort has passed away aged 87. Rochefort worked with some of Europe's greatest filmmakers including Luis Bunuel, Michele Lupo, Luigi Comencini, Carlo Vanzina, Henning Carlsen, Francis Girod, Bernard Borderie, Serge Bourguignon, Michel Audiard, Claude Chabrol, Philippe De Broca, Michel Deville, Alain Cavalier, Francis Veber, Bertrand Blier, Bertrand Tavernier and Alain Jessua. He enjoyed special relationships with a pair of French masters, Yves Robert and Patrice Leconte, both of whom called upon Rochefort's services for numerous pictures. He was an elegant performer blessed with effortless charisma, immaculate timing and a tremendous sense of fun; an actor who brought a touch of class to every project he boarded. He will be greatly missed.
