...in the MASH TV series, Colonel Blake mocks his wife for over using credit cards...did they even have credit cards during the Korean war? I could be wrong... I don't think Visa and Master Charge existed until the sixties, but there were department store cards well before that. Here's more than you might want to know. I still have store cards for Marshall Fields, Carson Pirie Scott, Hechts, Wards – all defunct. Update: I see Carson Pirie Scott still exists but as "Carsons". |
