Sport is sport. Why do you like sports? The athleticism, the competition, the rivalries...that stuff is all in the non-major sports. What you find in football, you can find in NASCAR...just ask Joe Gibbs.

Music is sounds, placed in an order that is (supposedly) pleasing to the ear.
Sports is a structured competition, framed by rules unique (somewhat) to that sport.

Only in the basic sense, sounds in order, can you equate Chopin to Motorhead. Only in the basic sense, competition with rules, can you equate basketball with NASCAR. Chopin is not to everyone's taste. NASCAR is not to everyone's taste.
