There were no stakes in Logan, it was obvious from the beginning they were going to kill him and Xavier and have X-23 get away. And there was nothing original about the story either, it's the same old we've been getting since 2000. It being Jackman's swan song and Logan being allowed to cut people simply made audiences blind to this. Ironman 3 should have been like Logan with all the personal problems he was facing. But it was watered down because they were afraid it would be too heavy. IM3 still had the rest of the Universe going on and they knew RDJ would be coming back for other movies, so they weren't going to kill him off along with his supporting cast because his story wasn't done. And they dealt with his PTSD better than DOFP dealt with Xavier being a drunk and a drug user. |
