99.9% sure you already know this, but Marvel did just that in their comic line in 2015. Edited to add: that was also, not coincidentally whatsoever, the exact instant that I stopped giving them any money for comic books. After buying them with varying degrees of regularity for about twenty-five years. I have heard about that disaster. Luckily it didn't happen in their movies. Comics are so hard to get into now. Changing characters, rebooting storylines, and too many titles just makes it impossible to follow. I think ANAD Marvel is the direction they're headed after this current cycle/Phase of films. Hopefully not, though.
