Yeah, some of the uploads are maybe not exactly doing much "justice" to the band, but somehow a far better quality version of the song I posted by Talk Talk was moved or deleted not long ago, which is a shame. However the 1997 remastered CD versions of their first 5 albums are a must. Beautiful and warm sounding, and not destroyed by the loudness war which seemed to happen not long after to alot 70s and 80s records.
Yeah, british pop-rock or music in general during the late 70s and throughout the 80s, was something else. An impressive and seemingly endless supply of talentful, hungry and creative people making music that still sounds fresh and like nothing else I have heard.
I only know of Cocteau Twins and The Cure from the bands/artist you mention, well Eno is no stranger to me, but I have sadly not been very updated on his solo-albums, which is something I am planning on doing, one day.
