Yvonne Lime (Yvonne Fedderson now), who starred in the 1957 film I Was a Teenage Werewolf among other things, has devoted her post-acting career to her non-profit child abuse prevention charity organization Childhelp. She co-founded it in 1959 with Sara O'Meara, but continued to act until 1968.
Together, they have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize five times in total. It's admirable that she was willing to give up on show business and thus step out of the limelight (no pun intended) to focus on such a good cause. You can find their official website here.
