I was so excited to see this movie and really disappointed when I didn’t get a chance to see it on the big screen. I rented it over the weekend and I have to say I really didn’t like it at all. I thought it was flat and uninteresting. Even the lead actor was boring. I was shocked that I didn’t like it, because I did think the previews looked good and it got an overwhelming positive response. I thought it looked dumb from the start, but I decided to give it s shot after some positive buzz from friends. I ended up disliking it, but not for the reasons I expected to. I didn't mind the central protagonist, I just thought the movie was boring. There are very few action scenes and most of the characters are as you said, very flat and uninteresting. I thought the movie could have done so much more with the idea of using music to supplement the action scenes. I thought the whole thing was boring: the lead, the love interest, the villains (Jon Bernthal was absolutely wasted), the action scenes. I even thought the music was overused and that was supposed to be a strength. I also thought the movie would be funnier. |
