Where on Long Island do you live? There are TONS of great places. Of course you're not impressed with Subway, it's monotonous mass-produced shit. You have to stay away from the chains and hit up the local delis. If you're in Nassau, check out the chicken club at My Hero in North Merrick. Also, try an Italian sandwich at Sorrento's of Long Beach - it's an old school Italian deli with no real menu, you just ask for an Italian sandwich and they'll whip one up for you. I'm not as familiar with the Suffolk local shops but I'm sure there are tons of them. Thanks for the tip. I live in bellmore. The My Hero thing sounds good I looked at that menu. It's only about a mile from my house so I'll check that out. I should look for a suffolk place too to hit up on the way to work. Awesome, let me know how you like it! If you go at peak lunch or dinner hour, there is always a line out the door. Good luck! Their stuff is always good, but the chicken club is what people wait in line for. |
