It can't be a planet since it has a side that drops off into space, yet it has mountains & oceans - and possibly other areas.
Best guess is that it's an artificial construction, something like an outer space Columbia (Bioshock Infinite)
Asgard is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, on this very message board. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television.
