What is with Anderson Dawes (Jared Harris)? Is he supposed to be Irish? He talks like English is not his first language. I can barely understand him. Do they make him put marbles in his mouth when he talks? His accent is an abomination of the English language. You think being a professional actor he would have trained to clean that up. Is he doing that for the part? Or does he normally talk like that? Belter accent. By now you must have noticed the "Belter Creole" various characters use.

Many characters in this show have accents. But none as horrible as Dawes. Naomi Nagata (Dominique Tipper) has a British accent. But it is smart and sophisticated. Even Chrisjen Avasalara (Shoreh Aghdashloo) has a heavy accent. But I can understand them. But Dawes sounds like he has 4 erect cocks crammed down his throat and he is choking on the cum. "Auh eh ooh ak eh" --- that is the way he sounds when he talks.

![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Well, not every person from Texas sounds like a character from "King of the Hill," not everyone from Scotland speaks with a heavy burr. This show would be a lot less interesting to me if they hadn't gone out of the way to give the Belters their distinctive culture.

Because the other Belters don't talk like that.

But I still have a hard time. It is easier for me to understand Chewbacca from Star Wars than this guy.

It has to be a very expensive show to make, so I doubt it will be picked up unless a big company like Netflix wants it. I don't think it is that expensive to make. All those special effects are CGI. Not on location or stunts. CGI is like everything else. The more we use it, the less expensive it gets.

I don't think this is set in stone yet, but serious talks are underway according to sources.

I'm quite happy for the fans right now, I knew more than a few bummed people in real life. I'll definitely be checking the show out real soon, perhaps right after I binge Westworld season 2.

I think the best performance has been by Dominique Tipper (Naomi Nagata). And worst by Steven Strait (James Holden).
Who else thought immediately that leaving Alex Kamal (the pilot) alone with those three Martian soldiers was a bad idea? I could see that coming as soon as they left him there. And why did the Martian soldier not shoot Draper (defected Martian Marine) in the face? She had the suit on. But she had no helmet on.
This show got good episode 9 of the first season. And it got better as it went along. But the last episode of season 3 was a little weird.
And I think that supposed connection between Detective Joe Miller and Julie Mao was hoaky. Julie had never even met Miller. And they act like they have some kind of soul mate connection ?? ?? ??

Just watched Immolation, what a perfect episode. Every character is so well written and I care for all the characters. You really want people to succeed or fail and it doesn't happen often that I'm this invested in a show. SyFy cancelling this is, no matter if it's revived on another channel or not, the biggest mistake they've ever made. This isn't just your average space show. This is this decade's Battlestar Galactica or Star Trek event, it's that good. Season 1 was good, season 2 fantastic and season 3 is god-tier so far.

This is the first Game of Thrones-less year in quite some time, but still 2018 makes up for its lack of GoT & great movies with other tv shows. *The End of the F***ing World - one of the best first seasons I've ever seen. *The 100 S05 - The best season of The 100 so far and the best CW show ever made, by far. *The Expanse S03 - see previous post. *Westworld S02 - I haven't seen it yet (I'm watching it after all episodes have come out), but I've heard great things so far.
And there are even more shows with stellar reviews that I haven't seen yet like Planet Earth II, Atlanta S02, The Americans S06, The Handmaid's Tale S02 & Legion S02. And it's only May.

Renewed on Amazon is the same as cancelled to me. I don't have Amazon and I'm not going to get it. I'm happy for the fans that have Amazon.

Her level of education must be high. Belters are mostly an underclass, but they must have different levels of education which is reflected in their speech. Better educated, clearer speech. I didn't realize Chrisjen was a Belter, yet she has a high position in Earth government. Is she really?

She does technical work on the ships she is on.

She does technical work on the ships she is on. Sorry, I was responding to your question about Chrisjen being a Belter. She is assuredly not. The other poster was making a point about accents and I'm sure didn't mean to cause confusion regarding her origin.
