Game 1 just finished up and it is more of the same from the Capitals. Have a 2 goal lead early in the 3rd and then allow 3 unanswered quickly.
This was a back and fourth game. Penguins couldn't get any luck in the first two periods at all, they had many chances. Their defense was pretty bad allowing several odd man chances. The stepped up big time after they got the lead back, shutting down Ovie and blocking shots.
Holtby was incredible, until he allowed that first goal. Something went haywire after that. It will be interesting to see if the Penguins got into his head, or if he will bounce back on Sunday afternoon.
What are your thoughts on this series?

Just when you think Washington can't lose, they lose or at least make things difficult for themselves. Pittsburgh is the opposite and Crosby looks like he really wants 3 Cups in a row.

Agreed, Crosby has a fire lit under him. If you go back to the year they won their first of the back to back, the 15-16 Cup run, Crosby didn't put up big numbers at all. Just 19 points in 24 games played with a minus 2. Last Cup run he had 27 points in 24 games with a plus 4. So far this post season he has 15 points in 7 games and a plus 8. On pace to increase from last postseason if they make it to the finals again. I think he knows in the back of his mind realistically he only has a couple more years before the Penguins have to make major changes. Matt Murray is getting payed 3.7 million a year. When he gets a new deal I'm sure that will skyrocket to somewhere over 10 million a year(especially if he wins a 3rd Cup) . That means no more Kessel, and who knows, maybe no more Malkin.
