Cool. Thanks for the links.
I had no idea about this project. “Nightbreed” TV series might just be worth-a-look. I do love Barker’s multi-layered, and gripping story “Cabal”, if somewhat indifferent on his 90s film adaptation. But I can see this working. Plenty of potential within the source material to expand and shape into a compelling, and intense series.
“Child’s Play” going from film to TV series kinda surprised me, after the success of the latest films, but I guess TV streaming is where the money and popularity is these days. Curious if that means there won’t be films in the future, depending how successful this stint becomes? It’s hard to see the story not continuing where “Cult” finished off. Things were indeed getting interesting, and I liked how the story evolved. Talk about unpredictable, and kudos to Mancini and Kirschner in keeping it all rather fresh compared to other stale horror franchises.
Yeah, I would be disappointed if “Tremors” is looked over and not picked up. It was great to see Kevin Bacon again, although I do miss Fred Ward and their chemistry, but the trailer for the series looked a lot fun. Fingers crossed.
Yeah. It is confusing and annoying but I have been using the Australian Amazon since we have been blocked from using the American store and I have noticed they have added a lot of things they didn’t have on the site before and have also put a number of items down in price and I think they are doing it to get more people who used the American Amazon store to make the switch. The Australian store is still small in comparison to the American store and there are a lot of items we can’t buy but seeing them adding more things gives me hope that one day the Australian store might actually become as big as the American store like they have said on the news. One of the things on the Australian store that got my attention recently was the cheap price of TV shows during sales and some of them were cheaper than they were on the American store like ‘Orphan Black’ which I already own all the seasons of but they had 1-4 for only $14.59 a season a couple of weeks ago.
One thing that also makes some items cheaper on the Australia Amazon store is the shipping charges which are significantly lower and you don’t have to convert the prices over to the American dollar so I will most likely keep buying from Amazon on their Australian store but I am disappointed over how many things we are missing out on and the cost of graphic novels which while cheaper than most of our bookstores here is still more expensive. I have heard some other American sites are set to follow Amazon and block us from using their stores too and I am not sure which ones yet but I know we can still buy from some of the stores that were on the American Amazon’s marketplace like ‘Movie Mars’ by going to their websites and buying directly from them. They have a lot of Horror movies and I got a number of Horror movie box sets from Movie Mars when I used to buy on Amazon’s marketplace.
The ‘Nightbreed’ TV show should be interesting especially with Clive Barker involved and it gives him a chance to adapt ‘Nightbreed’ it the way he originally envisioned it and I heard one of the problems with the original ‘Nightbreed’ movie was the movie company tried to turn it into something it wasn’t supposed to be and they didn’t like the movie. One of them said it disgusted and distressed them and they couldn't work out why Clive would write such a movie and when it come to releasing it they cut out a heap of scenes that were vital to the story and they didn't let the movie screen to critics 'cause they didn't think critics liked Horror movies and saw them as movies that sold to lowest common denominator. A lot of critics have always and people working in the industry have always looked down on the Horror movie genre and looking back at some of the reviews of Horror movies in the 80s which criticised not only the movies but the fans that enjoyed them comparing us to serial killers and mass murderers it is funny to see many of those movies have gone on to become some of the most popular movies of all time and had multiple sequels.
'Child's Play' going to a TV series surprised me too 'cause I didn't think we would ever have a 'Child's Play' TV show let alone one that continued on from the movies with Brad Dourif and it seems like one of the main reasons it is going to TV is 'cause of the remake MGM are making and I don't know if you heard but MGM is making a remake of 'Child's Play' and it is going to have what is described as a hi-tech Chucky and be darker than the other movies. A lot of fans are against the remake 'cause the original franchise is still going strong after the last two Chucky movies have been well received by a lot of fans and see it as MGM trying to cash in on the success of that and steal Don Mancini's franchise. Brad Dourif has said he turned down appearing in the remaking and is choosing to only work with Don as he sees it as the real 'Child's Play' franchise. I think MGM are making a mistake and a number of sites are saying it could be a flop 'cause Horror fans are loyal to franchises and with the original franchise still going they might choose only to watch that.
I am not sure how much MGM can do with 'Child's Play but I do know they can't use Kyle, Tiffany and Nica and can only use the characters who appeared in the first movie 'cause the other 6 movies were under Universal and Universal has ownership over them.
