You know what, yeah I've been bad mouthing him, but FUCK MATT HARVEY. Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee, two pitchers who had great careers, both took demotions to the minors after achieving success and came back strong after faltering. You think you're better than those guys? You don't have the class that either of them have (or had) in their big toe, you selfish, pussyboy asshat. Good riddance, Matt Harvey. I hope the rest of your career be as famously disastrous as you deserve. Seen others but Ken Rosenthal was just talking about him the other day. His problems aren't physical, they are mental and mechanical. He has flaws in his delivery and is unwilling to work on them. He thinks he's still The Dark Knight of the beginning of 2013. He got too much, too soon. University of North Carolina to the next Tom Seaver in two years. Yup. He has made zero adjustments to his mechanics, to his preparation, to his routine, to his workout regimen, to his diet, literally nothing.

harvey is an addict correct? ala josh hamilton? or am i wrong? Nah, he's just an asshole who refuses to listen to anybody that is trying to help him. i thought there were problems last year (or was it the season before - or do I have the wrong player completely) - where he didn't show up on a day he was supposed to pitch and he was AWOL - and then there was a 'leave of absence' for awhile - and going on the DL and there were rumors/whispers that he may actually have substance abuse issues/mental instability.... not excusing that action or behavior - sometimes it can bring out the worst in a person - but sure explains a lot........i.e. erratic behavior all the time

Take that as you will, but to me, that's not really Josh Hamilton levels - he was at death's door for a long time before magically resurrecting his failed career. Matt just enjoys doing blow into the wee hours of Manhattan nightlife and banging whatever bombshells he can find. More power to him....but if you're going to do that, get your ass up on game day and show up. It's not like it can't be done, but pitching comes first. Cocaine comes second. It's so obvious, I can't believe I even have to type it. Like me, I enjoy a few hits of weed as much as the next guy (and actual weed, not this oil shit that kids enjoy these days), but I don't do it and then head into a negotiation or a deal closing. I do my work, and then I enjoy myself. Simple.

You know where he’ll end up? I can see him signing with some team in Japan. They’d love him there and can have geisha orgies every night while eating sushi off of a dead hooker’s tits and not have to deal with American media.

Simple. that sucks. maybe he can't control his addiction. think it was nuts who posted in this post or another thread about how they were playing san diego and he was partying in L.A. on game day.... again - not excusing the guys actions or behaviors - maybe he's one of those guys that just can't turn the switch off when he starts. maybe this will be a wake up call for the guy and he'll clean up.....

I think the Mets are done. I know it's early but they are bending over like cheap 2 dollar whores. I don't know what happened between now and 10 days ago but I have a hunch they will be lucky to break .500 for the rest of the season.

You have to wonder how much the Matt Harvey Melodrama was hurting the Metropolitans. Shit like that can poison a clubhouse and hamstring a team. Players taking sides, Harvey v. Callaway. Players get tired of the media focusing on one shitty player. Maybe the Mets can come back now that the Dark Knight is sulking in his Batcave.

And in other non-Harvey news, four Dodger pitchers no hit the Padres and Albert Pujols becomes the 32nd member of the 3000 hit club

Astros-D-Backs will be fun, possible World Series preview? It's disgusting that the Astros got Gerrit Cole. So stupid on the Pirates part.

Cole was absolutely brilliant last night, him, Verlander and Morton are off to amazing starts. Astros pitching is terrific, and their hitting will improve, so far only Altuve and Correa are performing up to their standards.

Scherzer with 15 K’s in 6 1/3, then he is pulled for some reason and the bullpen comes in and shits the bed. Made no sense to remove him from the game so early, and the Nats bullpen continues to have major issues, it looked as though they had improved for this season, apparently not.

Blue Jays salvage a game at The Trop. Man, games at that stadium are really dreary. Not to say the Rogers Centre is a picnic when the roof is closed. Jays starters came in with an ERA ranked 26th in the league. Marco Estrada pitched 6 scoreless innings.

nice to see franco perform for the phils...
was supposed to be a cornerstone to the rebuild....
i wrote him off awhile ago....was batting .276 coming into the game and lead the team with 25 rbis.....
maybe he woke up a bit after getting in trouble during the offseason for partying early AM and being caught on camera when he had a game the same day in the Dominican....

Holy hell, the Yankees strike again. Gleyber Torres with a walk-off 3 run homer.

who would have thought on May 6th the Braves would be at the top of the NL EAST and the Nats in 4th....
Granted it's early and tight - but does anybody see this keep up where the Nats, Phils, Mets and Braves are all relatively subpar teams who can take the division?
if that's the case it's going to make for a fun September......

I really hope the Braves can keep it up. They've got Alex Anthopoulos as the GM and now they've called up Jose Bautista to play 3rd. Those are two of the guys at the forefront of bringing back exciting baseball to Toronto.
