who would have thought on May 6th the Braves would be at the top of the NL EAST and the Nats in 4th.... Granted it's early and tight - but does anybody see this keep up where the Nats, Phils, Mets and Braves are all relatively subpar teams who can take the division? if that's the case it's going to make for a fun September...... I really hope the Braves can keep it up. They've got Alex Anthopoulos as the GM and now they've called up Jose Bautista to play 3rd. Those are two of the guys at the forefront of bringing back exciting baseball to Toronto. be nice if they (and the mets and nats) can stay above water and fight for the division - nothing like late september series against your rivals when you're fighting for a playoff spot - it's got a playoff atmosphere all unto itself pre-October.....

shows how much i've been paying attention - wasn't even aware howie kendrick was on the nats now and the nats picked up bautista....
4-3 in the bottom of the 9th and Nats have a man on 3rd with kendrick up on your boy bautista is on deck...
*** scratch that - kendrick just got beaned and Taylor is up - 1st and 3rd...

Marlins have now won 4 series in a row! Our pitching has been strong, hopefully that will prevent us from being the most awful team in MLB despite our atrocious hitting.

Wow, did the Reds waste a shitload of money on Homer Bailey. I could hit him, cane and all. And still gets $48,000,000 after '18. Nicely done, Cincy.

Giants @ Phils tonight: a preview of the nlcs? I donβt think the Giants have enough pitching to go far, besides they are in a very tough division, so they may not make the playoffs. I like what the Phillies have, they are a well rounded team, not sure how far they can go though. The NL is really wide open, I have no idea who will come out on top.

reds got harvey - guess it couldn't hurt So the Mets get another catcher who can't stay healthy and the Reds get another starter who can't get anyone out. Bonus! How much are these GM's making?

How much are these GM's making? do 'fresh starts' ever work out in sports? i.e. 2nd chances and a change of scenery - but are there any examples recently of a player blossoming (in any sport) with a change of scenery in recent memory? hey twothousandonemark (sorry if i got your name wrong - can't scroll up) - there was a phil a few years back - he was regarded as a 5 Tool Prospect - this is when they were riding high like 2007-2011 - his name was Domonic Brown - was so excited when they called him up - i think i remember his first at bat he even hit a laser double off the fence....... he completely bombed here. last i saw he was on the Jays (at least I thought) - do you know of, heard of a 'Domonic Brown'?

I hope that somewhere Sandy Alderson is high as a kite laughing because he managed to find the shittiest player on the shittiest team who isn't even healthy and traded an egotistical pissant, who happens to be among the most hittable pitchers in the game, for him and to arguably the best hitter's park around to boot. Almost as if to say "This is what you're worth, Matt. Fuck you."
