Wow, the White Sox suck. Their starting OF's are hitting .222, .191 and .102. Yoan Moncada might be the uber-prosepct people thought he was. 50 K's in 118 AB's. And the pitching is putrid. James Shields is no longer "Big Game James". Lucas Giolito looks like a classic AAAA player (too good for AAA, not good enough for the majors). He was the #3 prospect in 2016. I can see Rick Renteria filling out a change of address card very soon. But there's not much they can do. Their only marketable player is Jose Abreu, who might or might not be 31.

He is? I've been watching and, despite the score, Harvey isn't fooling anyone. Quite a few "Loud outs". Adam Duvall pulled his irons out of the fire with a nice catch. 3 innings, six hits, no pitcher's duel by the Bay today. The Not As Dark Knight calmed down some. Only 4 IP, the Reds are nursing him, which isn't a bad thing. Wait to see how he does in Cincinnati. That ballpark doesn't forgive pitchers who can't keep the ball on the ground. If I was a hitter with mediocre power, I'd rather hit at Great American than Coors. votto didn't hit that ball off him. that was off the plate. inning should have been over. reds got lucky. no idea what the home ump and the rest of them were looking at.

D-Backs snap a 6 game losing streak and defeat the Brewers. D-Backs offense continues to struggle but their pitching has been excellent, both starting and relief. yeah, what is up with goldy's bat??!! No idea why Goldy has sucked so bad this season, but he’s been atrocious. Usually he’s one of the most solid and consistent players in MLB. And now Pollock is out for a month, Goldy is going to have to step up if the D-Backs want to have any offense.

astros lookin' to take the 1st game of the series from the indians.... Good series. Nice win for the Astros, Charlie Morton with another brilliant start, the Astros starting pitching has just been brilliant so far, and their bullpen is extremely underrated. I think their offense is starting to heat up as well, they are still the best team in MLB. Indians have been disapointing so far, but they will still almost certainly win their division. They have no bullpen depth and aside from Brantley their outfield sucks.

The Jays got swept at home by the A's. Kendrys Morales pitched the ninth gave up a walk and came out of the inning without giving up a run. The team looked really lifeless today. Josh Donaldson is really struggling. I wonder how soon Vlady Jr. will be called up to the big club.

D-Backs at Brewers starts tonight, possible NLCS matchup IMO! Should be fun. will goldy get back above the mendoza line??!! He's up to .205!! I was at the game on Friday night (caught my first ever ball at a game, after what is probably 500 games all over the country! That you Brad Boxberger for throwing it to me after striking up a friendly convo!) and Goldy looked absolutely lost. He had a Golden Sombrero against a dominant deGrom and didn't come remotely close to making solid contact. On Saturday, he was able to capitalize on a mistake by mental midget Steven Matz for a HR but still didn't look good. Yesterday, he definitely had better swings and overall just looked more balance at the plate but that's about as positive a thing as I can find to say about him right now. His struggles date back to last year when he just disappeared in September after a typically awesome year. In September, he slashed a truly putrid .171/.250/.305 and wasn't much better in the NLDS, going 1 for 11 against the Dodgers. At some point, you have to start to wonder whether it's some sort of injury that's nagging him because players as good as he Goldy don't slump this badly for this long, barring some Chuck Knoblauchesque mental vanishing act (which I don't see here).

Anthony Rizzo is having an equally ghastly season. .203, 6 HR, 30 RBI. Slump, injuries or yips?
