The above holiday – originally a time of fertility rituals, became a celebration of labor in the 19th Century. Yesterday, there was a great convergence of growers that seem to be overcoming earlier trends of redefining ”freedom” and “education”. Here’s a song to celebrate:

 This seems like a good place to post news from the labor front. Common Dreams reports how students and teachers are working with unions to retrieve the gains labor had made - gains that neoliberals have striven to roll back for the past several decades.
