I disagree. It was great character stuff for Thor, and it would've seemed like total deus ex machina if Thor just randomly showed up with a WMD out of nowhere at the end.

I thought it was cool. Dinklage wasn’t great, (stop with the terrible accent!!!!), but Eitri is rad and tragic. Thor needed to go on his own hero’s quest of collecting pieces and creating his weapon in order to be worthy of fighting Thanos’ power quest.

Yeah I always thought Dinklage’s accent in Game of Thrones was unconvincing too.

I don't think it was boring but it could have been trimmed down a bit maybe.

It kinda felt like that useless subplot in Last Jedi when they go to the casino planet for a random side quest.
I get that Stormbreaker was supposed to be like the Ultimate Nullifier against Thanos but it didnt stop him so the forging scenes was unnecessary. Just like TLJ subplot where it turns out pointless to the overall story.

I loved the concept of showing the forge where Mjolnir was made. Great mythology deepening stuff, but...
I just thought those sequences looked like shit. Really bland ugly looking art design and horrible CG.

Just like TLJ subplot where it turns out pointless to the overall story. It sort of poked a hole in the Thanos backstory. So compassionate that he was saving the universe to bring about his vision, yet did he leave half the dwarves alive? No His cruel ass killed them all but the one who helped him. That one he left alive, but horribly damaged. Thanos's mission isn't the kindness he pretended
