mrs brady. fair and didn't take sides because 'hes the oldest' or 'she's my actual daughter'
Claire huxtable. would stand up for her kids when needed to but would not take shit from her kids either. saw them for what they most likely were.
mrs ingalls from the little house show. was Christian as she could be until she witnessed the wrath of mrs oleson than it was any man for himself. good teacher to her girls and the school.
mrs garrett. was a mother to four very versatile girls and before that three very, VERY versatile children when only two of them were related to each other. and even then, was more of a mother to most of them than their real mothers.
most of the quintessential 'mothers' especially from this list on the internet, they can't compare to today's life. no mother ever wore high heals to vacuum. sorry. no mother would ever dream of dropping her kid off at her mother's or mrs trumble so they could jetset around the literal freaking world. no mother has ever used magic with her kids. [bewitched] no mother has ever allowed her toddler twins to run the whole house and then be verbally chastised for their out of control behavior without DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR BEHAVIOR! Boy, I sure wouldn't want to be a kid belonging to some of the rough, tough, "pistol-packin'" mamas being posted here--if those same mamas patronized a day-care center, I imagine it would be like a Little League version of the Fraternity in Wanted!  Despite her secondary status (and billing), Margaret Anderson of Father Knows Best was someone who always seemed to know best...without demanding extra attention for it.  And that same actress, Jane Wyatt, later portrayed my favorite space-mama:  |
