Watched AIW online, at work ( go me! ) and I have two comments: The first is a ( very ) mild complaint, why so much CGI? I am so sick of CG overkill in modern day blockbusters. It was like watching a cartoon. It's bad enough that the character with the most screentime Thanos is CG, but even the cameos Red Skull are? Jeez. Whatever happened to rubber masks? The second is a prediction, when Stark asked Doctor Doctor "why did you give him the time stone?" he basically answered "you'll see..." The film ends with Space Grimace all depressed cause he killed Gamora. I think it's pretty obvious that HE will use the time stone to undo it all.

The excessive CGI was my biggest complaint as well. The green screen on Titan looked especially crappy.

Hmm. I thought the film ended with Thanos smiling, having accomplished his life's work. He was distraught over Gamora, but I feel like he'd do it again. I've heard a few theories that have Thanos (or another version of him from the time stream) helping the heroes stop himself. (This would be a nod to the comics where the out has always been that 'Thanos allows himself to lose.') I've also heard a theory that Nebula gets the gauntlet (as in the comics) and Thanos has to help the heroes stop her. Either way A4 is going to be nuts and I can't wait.
I'm of two minds about the CGI, at least regarding Thanos. The closeups were amazing. They really captured Brolin's performance, his facial expressions were incredibly well done. But the faraway shots were a little wonky, especially when Thanos was walking in profile, turning around or one scene in particular where he's standing and he sits down. It just didn't look good at all, considering the budget.

Also, I thought it would've been great if they expanded on that scene in the soul realm.
Gamora: Did you do it?
Thanos: I did.
Gamora: What did it cost?
Thanos: Everything.
Now, add this
Gamora: Was it worth it?
Thanos: ...
But I guess that contradicts the ending where he's clearly satisfied with his decision. And maybe that's too hopeful an ending. It isn't much of a cliffhanger if we think the all powerful being is about to change his mind and undo it all, moments later.

You're not really in the best position to judge or complain about CGI when you watched it online in a (presumably) pirated copy.

Thanos at least looked way better than the CGI beings we've had in the DCEU and was certainly more believable as a big bad than the purple guy in X-men (Apocalypse).

Thus your opinion on the CGI is hardly legitimate.

Compare Titan with Xandar. Xander is so well done with a mix of CG and real sets combined with crisp visuals and excellent detailed art design. Titan on the other hand looked like digital sludge. But yes. Of course this is just my opinion. You can disagree if you want...

Because as someone watching a shitty pirated movie, it would be very difficult for you to appreciate visual effects in the movie. Thus your opinion on the CGI is hardly legitimate. can you not read? I can. Do you have trouble with comprehension? Here let me spell it out for you. This is what you said, "It was like watching a cartoon". Fact: Watching a pirated copy means visual effects will look crappy. What that means is that the effects will seem less realistic. The fact that you think rubber masks as more realistic than CGI can be greatly affected by seeing crappy CGI. The main reason you're complaining about too much CGI is due to the fact that you think it doesn't look good, otherwise why would you complain if you thought it looked great?

"Like watching a cartoon" has to do with the quantity of CGI, i.e. everything onscreen ( or too many things ) being animated. It has absolutely nothing to do with the look, or the quality, of said CGI. Let me give you an example. Shrek is CGI. It looks fine. It is an animated film. A cartoon. Got it?

Because otherwise, you wouldn't complain about there being too much or making a comment on how they look like cartoons.

I only care about the quantity.

Jesus Christ, dude. I don't give a flying fuck what it looks like! I only care about the quantity. Which you wouldn't care about if the CGI was great. Besides, what quantity? How much of the stuff in that movie was pure CGI? Ok so there's Thanos, surely that alone is not enough for you to complain about CGI overload?
