It has no downside. They'd get a proven winner as coach, and Pitino can't get in too much trouble for paying players in the NBA.
If that doesn't happen, I'd love to see Rasheed Wallace as the coach. He was an assistant, and if nothing else, the press conferences would be entertaining.

It was executive Pitino that got coach Pitino fired here.

He was an assistant, and if nothing else, the press conferences would be entertaining. what about Stackhouse? he was a former Piston and rumored for the Knicks job - apparently he's a decent coach in the G(D)League.... i'd like to see pitino return one day whether it be the NBA or D1 - the world needs Ricky P. - at least for the sake of the headlines that will follow... i just can't see him disappearing into obscurity for a long time coaching DIII or high school....he needs the limelight ....
