He could play both good and bad, funny or serious, and just plain crazy. Paxtons movies were never dull and boring but always fun to watch. Loved Hatfields and McCoys Frailty, Twister, Club Dread, & Near Dark.

The two that immediately pop into my head that prove his greatness are Aliens and his role in True Lies. Man, he was hilarious in that film.

Most underrated role in A Simple Plan. And Frailty proved he deserved a second (and third, fourth, etc.) shot in the director's chair.

Those were good movies I also forgot Tombstone in the list.

Yes. Chet (weird science) to many supporting dramatic roles. I think Paxton knew and understood early he was not a lead/ C'mon and start listing his credits, outstanding work in film.

He was fine. I do think he was pretty vanilla in Titanic, though it would seem like he's playing a James Cameron type character (deep sea adventurer) so it wouldn't be very dramatic or surreal. That role is being part of the audience.
