This is indeed a disturbing universe.
It made me cringe to see Nike and General Electric logos on the sacred Celtics jerseys.

It's inevitable. Will happen in all the big 4 US sports before long. Europeans have been telling you this for a while .. often to undeserved ridicule. It will be quite sad when this happens in the MLB.

Not to the extent of the EPL where the sponsor is front and center and the logo/crest is an afterthought . But the North American leagues will not turn down free money for long

But the North American leagues will not turn down free money for long It’s not an “afterthought” - it’s where club crests have always been placed on football/rugby shirts. It’s logical that sponsorship be placed where there was space for it. Its only an American tradition (primarily baseball) to have the team name or city emblazoned across the front of a jersey. I’m assuming this was to differentiate between the high number of sides wearing red or blue caps and stockings.
