Just enough already. No one's gonna like these abortions better than the original.

People liked the 1986 remake more than the original....

If original films like A CURE FOR WELLNESS keep flopping, the remakes will keep on coming.

If original films like A CURE FOR WELLNESS keep flopping, the remakes will keep on coming. basically this, if you want more original film then you have to be proactive. also Hollywood doesn't know how to properly compete with streaming and i'm not sure if they can, "why should I leave my home to see 'The Nice Guys" or 'A Cure for Wellness,' when I can watch 'Black Mirror' and 'The Get Down' from the comfort of my couch?

Edgar Wright's upcoming film looks pretty original.
But if they've already tested the waters and the formula is a proven success, Hollywood aren't going to shy away from remaking something. Sometimes an original idea can receive a lot of flack for being implausible, unpalatable you name it. But they do try, sometimes. But movie studios don't market original films the same way they would do for a summer blockbuster.

Because going to the theater provides a communal experience. Sure, some audience experiences stink, but when you are part of a good audience, there's nothing comparable. Also, I find my concentration far better in a theater. At home, I have to resist grabbing my phone. If movies were cheaper, I'd go just about every week.

Who are they going to get that's better that Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis (yeah, I prefer the sequel)?

A remake of a remake? Is this what the world is coming to? What next, a remake of a remake of a remake?

Enough with the remakes already. Hollywood needs to make more movies with original plots.

Now I think about it, I never saw The Fly 2 (remake sequel). Was it any good? I remember enjoying it as a kid. But it probably wouldn't appeal to most people. I enjoy crappy horror films.

No one complains when Romeo & Juliet or A Christmas Carol is re-adapted a number of times...so why complain about The Fly?
If you don't like the idea, don't go see it. Simple really.

My thoughts exactly. I loved it (score is a gem). They took good care to provide some top-notch practical effects. The ending is downright sinister (loved it). I like the story and would be keen to see a re-imagination of it...if it's cast with a bunch of twenty-somethings (I'm looking at you Megan Fox), I'd be happy to spend my time elsewhere. This is a mature, disturbing story that (as I've interpreted it) deals with aging and the fears that come with it. Would love to see this story examined with an older cast.

Now I think about it, I never saw The Fly 2 (remake sequel). Was it any good? The sequel is fun, but pales in comparison to the remake in 1986. If you like gore and practical effects, you're in for a fun ride. There is some ridiculously cruel treatment of a dog (a golden retriever, which is like the happiest dog ever), but if you can get past that, it's not a bad watch for a horror fan. Great music in this one, too.
