I enjoyed the remake with Jeff better than the original, but to be fair the original was very dated. But I can't see why these film writers strike it's like they are on easy street lately.

No one complains when Romeo & Juliet or A Christmas Carol is re-adapted a number of times...so why complain about The Fly? If you don't like the idea, don't go see it. Simple really. Or Frankenstien

Now I think about it, I never saw The Fly 2 (remake sequel). Was it any good? The sequel is fun, but pales in comparison to the remake in 1986. If you like gore and practical effects, you're in for a fun ride. There is some ridiculously cruel treatment of a dog (a golden retriever, which is like the happiest dog ever), but if you can get past that, it's not a bad watch for a horror fan. Great music in this one, too. The Golden Retriever storyline is why I won't rewatch the sequel (although Eric Stoltz was fabulous). The ending was very satisfying on that end, tho.

I can't make it through the scenes with dog. I love the practical effects used throughout, and Christopher Young's score. That dog stuff though...kills me every single time.

It's one of the more disturbing moments in film, ever, for me. It's really a good movie, and a winner as far as sequels go, but I just love dogs too much. Not to sound like a snowflake, but it needs a trigger warning for dog lovers.
