Somewhere between 2000-3000 titles, but I have not really counted for a couple of years now. And I am constantly buying DVDs and Blu-rays, while also getting rid of a lot films that I find not worthy or that I will never watch again. I am not saying that all films I own are instant classics/favorites/cult-classics or rewatchable gems, but they have that something, which make me want to hold onto them, instead of throwing them out. If I had to guess, I think around 2500-2600 movies, 90 percent of them are DVDs, the rest VHS and Blu-rays. I tend to buy blu-rays if it means the quality or sound is better, which is not always a guarantee, but I really hate the blue plastic cover and the Blu-ray artwork is usually also a complete disaster, of course its what inside that counts (and all that) and I think my DVDs look so much better standing beside my very little VHS collection.
I will continue to buy physical formats such as VHSs, DVD and Blu-ray as long as it is possible, but not going to upgrade on that new one, I do not even remember its name, but the plastic cover is black, and it cost almost half as much as a DVD or Blu-ray movie. Great way of promoting a new format by handing out extremely overpriced piece of garbage films with guys like Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen, instead of handing out real quality films.

Not so many anymore when Netflix is around. I tried the norwegian Netflix a couple of months, but either I have seen all the classics/interesting films, or I already own them. The rest is sadly most uninteresting b-movies which look like typical DTV films made to cash in on bigger and more popular titles, like that horrible company The Asylum has been doing for over a decade now. If Netflix decides to spice it up, by bringing on more horror, action, thrillers and cult-classics I would be very interested, but as of now, at least the norwegian Netflix is a complete waste, at least that is my humble opinion.
