Season 5 has been very entertaining. Granted, some of the stuff that happens is still so eye rolling. The team breaking up again and the most obvious villain reveal in history. Anyone who did not know that the DA was Prometheus is lying to themselves. I knew his very first scene. At first, I thought he could be Vigilante, but then it became pretty obvious he was the main bad. I hate how he so easily got away with everything and manipulated the team. They try to write it like he is so clever and he is always so many steps ahead, but really they have to make everyone on the team make the dumbest decisions known to man for Chase to win.Even saying all of that I still really like this season. I am almost done Season 5. I do like all of the Bratva stuff. I still have not watched the other shows besides Flash season one and I am not sure if I will. I do catch the crossover episodes just to be on the same page, but besides that I am just watching Arrow. I am curious to go back and watch Flashpoint though. Exactly! That's one of the things that is so frustrating about this whole universe.

Oh come one. The entire universe isn't that bad. It's just Earth that sucks. Good thing the Marvel universe is part of the DC universe, because I know someone who needs to visit this world promptly.

Jesus Christ these characters are so dumb. It must actually be difficult for the writers to write characters this dumb. They have to seriously try really hard to make Oliver and his team make dumb decision after dumb decision in order to make the villains seem 'clever'.

Let me get this straight. It's Donna, right? She knows how to make an impression. Donna was at the top of the mountain in season 4. Even Debbie hated her guts and she is more forgiving of Felicity than me. Donna is one of the worst characters to ever appear on a TV show. I don't know how anybody can like her 'cause she was so annoying and I think she was written to be annoying and her fans were a bit thick and didn't realise that.

I am going to try something and I want you all to do it with me on the count of 3. Donna, Donna, Donna. WTF? When you say her name enough times she appears.

And correct me if im wrong but don't they then reveal later in the season no he didn't leave her or Felicity but Donna threw him out and threatened to turn him in if he didn't leave? making ALL of that utter bullshit well utter bullshit, and Donna nothing but an emotionally manipulative compulsive liar and total sociopath.

No. You are definitely right there. They did reveal later that Donna threw him out but I believe it was ‘cause she found out he was a criminal and she did not want him around her daughter which actually makes sense ‘cause I don’t remember the exact extent of his crimes in ‘Arrow’ but in the comic books the Calculator was a murderer too and he killed one of the members of ‘Teen Titans’ but Donna’s comments were in complete contrast to what she previously said about him like her claims that he left her and Felicity. The entire Donna storyline was a complete mess though including the parts with Felicity’s Father and I am just glad they got rid of it and the fact they broke Quinton and Donna up so quickly makes me think they realised their mistakes with her character.

Oh no doubt, pretty sure that's why Quentin even comments about how long people really expected them to last, but the Donna story was victim of the same crap a lot of the Felicity storylines suffer from, contradicting narratives to suit the episodes but not the season or the characters, like when Felicity & Oliver broke up they changed the justification for Felicity breaking up with him from one episode to the other, in one it's because Oliver is making life choices without her...which kind of on point but also he was making a choice that didn't include her hence her input not required, but whatever, then the next it's because he lied to her and his "default" is to lie, coming from the woman who lied to him by choice for MONTHS hiding from him she was feeling restless in suburban coupledom, where as he was forced to lie under denial of parental rights if he refused...I mean it's bad enough her "justification" is bullshit but they couldn't even stick to it, they had to flip flop because their fucking idiots...
Like why couldn't they just pick a reasonable rationale for both characters that they wouldn't need to renege on, like Felicity broke up with Oliver because not that Oliver did lie to her for months about something so serious but that he could lie to her for months and she not notice, that how can she pledge to be with someone that can deceive her so easily whether it was wilful or not, and Donna just say she always tried to what was best of Felicity and put her first, unlike her father, which is vague but true enough with the future reveal, as him being a criminal and the type he was put them and especially Felicity in potential danger, and instead of it being about Felicity leaving her, have it be Donna was always afraid of something happening and losing Felicity, turns out she lost her a long time ago, boom same fucking point but Donna doesn't come across as such a manipulative twat...hindsight I know but FUCK ME those writers must have been smoking crack to think that bollocks was worth filming.

I think what it comes down to is the writers of the 'Arrowverse' shows just aren't good at writing relationships especially of the Romantic kind and while there have been some exceptions a lot of the relationships on CW Network aren't well written and are over-dramatic and unrealistic and Clark and Lana drove me up the wall after a while on 'Smallville' 'cause you knew they weren't right for each other and getting back together was a mistake but they kept breaking up and getting back together and breaking up and getting back together again season after season. Even the way they eventually they ended Clark and Lana's relationship was bad 'cause they made it look like the only reason Clark and Lana weren't together was 'cause of the Kryptonite Lex put in Lana and many fans kept bringing that up as a way to put down Lois and Clark's relationship in the final season saying Clark was only with Lois 'cause he could not be with Lana and if she could get the Kryptonite removed he would dump Lois and go back to Lana. The CW Network appear to have a history of relationships like that and the problem is as I have told cjdull76 with some of the problems in the 'Arrowverse' shows there are people out there who keep praising them and calling them good and I have seen people call Clark and Lana's relationship the greatest relationship in the history of TV.
The 'Olicity' fans are the same with Olicity. They truly believe Oliver and Felicity's relationship is one for the ages, so to speak and they spend every hour of the day writing about it so when the writers see that they think they are doing a good job. I mean even journalists are praising it so it isn't just those fans and if we want there to be real change more of us need to speak up and disagree. Donna as a character was bad on her own so we probably shouldn't be surprised anything associated with her was going to be bad too.

There inepititude at writing romance makes me wonder how they deal with romance in the real world? Can you imagine them going on a date and acting like one of their characters in their show? I think they would get a drink in the face and go home alone.

I think they would get a drink in the face and go home alone. No. I couldn't. They probably have a lot of relationships that fall apart quickly if that if they are acting like the characters on their shows and are like those so-called relationship experts we have talked about who get paid to give other people advice for their relationships and tell them how they should and shouldn't be but haven't lasted a week in a real relationship. You wonder how these people get jobs 'cause they are far from being experienced in these fields. A lot of the best fictional relationships I have seen have been in the pages of books.
