The Mrs. and I are on the cusp of taking this plunge and eliminating our cable package entirely and relying on Hulu, Amazon and Vudu. Anyone else here do this? Any recommendations for specific content and whatnot?
Thanks!

I do and it works great. The only problem is sports. I have the NBC sports app so I can watch all of my Sixers and Phillies games, but I need an antenna to watch the Eagles games. With Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix, as well as a lot of the movie channel apps like HBO, Showtime, etc., I can watch whatever I want and every service put together only costs me $45 a month total.

I would love to do this as well, and many of my friends already have, but I'm so used to live News and sports and the DVR that I don't know how I'd handle it.
Meanwhile, I'm way overpaying for a cable package that I only really partially use... The other issue is somebody has to be the source for the HBO and Showtime passwords in my family, and that burden is on me, while others provide the Netflix and Hulu accounts. Somehow everyone has an Amazon Prime account though. Free shipping is very alluring.

That's cool, yeah I'd get the NBC sports app to get the Mets games and that's all I really care about. My wife would want to keep Food Network, do you know if they have a subscription service a la HBO? I'll definitely get HBO Now and most likely Showtime Anytime as well.

Enter any channel in the search there and it will give you the various non-traditional cable options to view. Food Network was one of them, available in a Hulu package.

Same here - - until there are other ways to watch the NFL package, for example, I'm stuck to satellite. It's a non-starter to me.
