Because that's not a terrible idea at all.
I could see either Tom Hiddleston or Benedict Cumberbatch in the Hans Gruber role although it would come off as an Alan Rickman impersonation.
As for Mr. McClane, Chris Pratt does well with both comedy/action plus he can show that vulnerable side.
The plot would need some reworking with the advent of modern technology. The bad guys, plus the hostages, could just communicate through text.

Re-makes are sometimes more about the name. Instead of Christmas, let's have them celebrate National Pottery and Coat Rack Day. |
