We all make our own reality. Yes. We do but you have to wonder what reality the people in charge of the 'Arrowverse' are living in sometimes with all the bad decisions they have made over the years with characters like what they did with Hawkman and Hawkgirl was embarrassing but I am starting to think they are not the main problem and the main problem is the people who are constantly praising them for making mistakes like the journalists who called DeVoe the best villain we have had in the 'Arrowverse' so far and the latest season of 'The Flash' was the best. When you have people like that praising you for bad work you are going to think you are doing the right thing and make the same mistakes. In some ways the writers of the 'Arrowverse' are like people who believe they can sing that are horrible but people didn't want to be mean to them and told them they could sing.

Someone actually called DeVoe the best Arrowverse villain? What the Hell is he smoking? And you're right. This is the problem. They keep getting praised for minimal effort and don't see a reason to strive for anything better. They think they've already achieved it.

They did and they actually went on to praise him and the show a lot even saying he was more intriguing and better written than any of the villains we have seen in superhero movies for a long time but the same journalists have been known for praising Felicity too and calling her the best thing to happen to 'Arrow' and believe 'Arrow' is at its best when Felicity is at the front and centre of the action on her computer and Oliver is out on the field.

It says something about these superheroes when their bad guys have been villans for all of them. What? One can't defeat them so another one has to try and then another one? Why couldn't Batman defeat the Riddler? He doesn't look like a hard guy to defeat. That's one of the things the movies and even the tv shows never bother addressing; which is the recurring nature of some of these characters, namely the villains. Sure, it seems like a joke that the Riddler or the Joker should be stopped by someone like Batman only to be able to come back and do it all again in perpetuity, but the other extreme has been to do their story once, often beating it to death and then some in shows like Arrow or Flash, and then ending their story permanently, generally by killing them; which just sort of squanders the story potential of these characters and the rivalry and history between them and the protagonists. It shouldn't be easy for these criminals to escape and terrorize their towns every other week, but a tv show isn't going to be around nearly as long as the comics have, so these characters finding their way back a few times over the course of an entire series shouldn't be that much of a stretch to make work in a believable way; between coordinated prison breaks either from the inside, by criminals too smart for ordinary prisons, or from the outside by new villains wanting to make use of these other antagonists who can cause chaos in the heroes life, to just simply being paroled, because they aren't all necessarily psychopathic killers or need to be. Personally, I really liked the take in the comics where they briefly had Riddler reformed and had him working as a private investigator. I thought that really worked well for the character and was very disappointed when they had him go back to being a villain. I have to agree with Stargazer's post. It is something they never bother addressing in the movies or TV shows and it often makes the superheroes look weak when villains like the Penguin, Two Face and the Riddler who aren't major physical threats by any stretch of the imagination are able to outsmart the superheroes all the time or escape from prison all the time. I mean if it was once or twice then I could believe it 'cause we have criminals do that in real life but when a villain has been around for 50 + years and they have escaped from prison over 100 times it becomes very unrealistic but it is just one of those things that happens in comic books. It happens more often in the TV shows as Stargazzer pointed out 'cause they don't have as many years as the comic books do but superhero comic books are often over the top and unrealistic with their storylines so the movies and TV shows can only follow 'cause when they try to make them too realistic they often mess them up. I liked the Riddler being a reformed private investigator too Stargazzer and I wish they had kept that going in the comic books and they could do it on screen but in order for it to done on screen we would need him to be a villain for a few years in a TV show or multiple movies first. They have Gotham. They could have the show end with him being reformed now that he is with Lee. They have The Penguin help Jim all the time but I wouldn't trust that slimy weasel. He's always up to no good.

The full lineup of the Longbow Hunters has been revealed and it consists of Diaz, Kodiak, Red Dart, and The Silencer. What is surprising and extremely disappointing here is they left out the most well known and powerful member of the group, Killer Moth and while it might have been 'cause there are plans to use the character on 'Gotham', 'Titans' or 'Batwoman' it seems like an odd move 'cause Killer Moth could be a good addition to the show if handled right and is powerful enough to be a threat on his own. Not surprised they would do something like this. It's what they've been doing for the last seven years.

They have and it is disappointing but maybe Killer Moth being left off the team is for the best looking at what they have done with Anarky, Prometheus, Ricardo Diaz and Firefly who were nothing like they were in the comic books and keeping their version of Ricardo Diaz as the main villain and what looks to be the leader of the Longbow Hunters would have required depowering Killer Moth so he didn't outshine Ricardo and the other members. I think we will see Killer Moth on screen at some point and with the upcoming 'Batwoman' show it is even more likely the character could be a villain on that. A lot of people are forgetting the 'Batwoman' show could have a great lineup of villains including many of her own and Batman villains. Have you seen Alice?

I think the Killer Moth thing maybe for the best Arrow tends to not do too well with too powerful or skilled characters, they overpower them too early then quickly nerf them to allow for the heroes to attack and run for 20+ episodes, or they could be smart and se the character but be holding them off for the final arc of the season where they can be badass and powerful for several episodes without the drag of the dozen or so times they could have and should have killed Oliver but didn't because "reasons"...reason being MG is a dumbfuck, thank Christ he's gone.

Yeah. You make a good point there and if they have Killer Moth on the show at full power he would be hard for Green Arrow and the rest of the team to take down and there is only so many episodes they are going to be able to do that for before it becomes repetitive and makes the team look really hopeless and then at the same time if they have Killer Moth on the team and depower him we could end up getting something similar to what we got with Killer Croc in the ‘Suicide Squad’ movie and in the comic books Killer Croc is one of Batman’s most deadliest villains and few people can go face to face with him but in ‘Suicide Squad’ they made him look like a joke by taking away his height, his weight, his hunger for human flesh and his anger and they didn’t make him scary. Killer Croc should have been kept to the side to be the main villain of a Batman movie and written like a Horror monster who we see glimpses of him in his Killer Croc form but only see him in full near the end where Batman faces him and I think Killer Moth would be better on his own too.

Yeah, we don't have to have the writers hurt themselves thinking of how to properly utilize the abilities or skills of a character. That way they can continue to under achieve and we won't be too disappointed.

I think the problem with the 'Arrowverse' shows at this point is we may expect too much from them and they are never going to be able to come up with anything spectacular or on the level of the DC Comic Books 'cause they don't take the shows seriously enough anymore and aren't willing to spend more time on coming up with better storylines especially when they have journalists saying how good they are and fans like the Olicity fans saying Olicity was the greatest relationship in TV show history. During the earlier seasons they probably paid more attention to them 'cause there was always that fear they could be dropped but now they have lasted this many seasons and a lot of fans think there is no way any of them are going to be cancelled they are used to it and don't think it is worth the extra effort.

You’d have to be fucking braindead to think Olicity was the greatest relationship on tv. Those people belong in mental institutions and the writers need to stop listening to them and giving into their wishes because they are feeding their addiction. Send them to the loony bin.

Some people are stupid and want to infect the world with their idiocy. Instead of indulging their diseased fantasies you should ignore them and hope they die alone and unloved.

Both of you make good points but the problem is they don't ignore them and they adapt their fantasies to screen 'cause they think they are the most important fans they need to get behind the show and Season 4 showed them they were wrong when they gave into the extreme Olicity fans who wanted 'Arrow' to be more of a lighter Romantic Comedy show with the focus being on Felicity and her family but rather admit that was the problem the Olicity fans blamed magic and the superpowers.

Well, that's more the problem of the producer then the fans because they could have ignored them and continued doing the show as they originally planned it. But they got addicted to the adoration and began making a show to cater to one segment of the fandom, at the detriment of the show. Which has never recovered and never will.

Well it's also I think down to MG being part of that fandom and sharing in their idiotic and addled capacity to think or be creative, and the inability to grasp a simple concept with TV and movies in that show not tell is the best way to put something across, especially helpful when the show and tell aren't fucking in contrast to one another.
