Well, that's more the problem of the producer then the fans because they could have ignored them and continued doing the show as they originally planned it. But they got addicted to the adoration and began making a show to cater to one segment of the fandom, at the detriment of the show. Which has never recovered and never will. True. They could have ignored the crazy fans and continued on with their original vision for the show uninterrupted and I often wonder what 'Arrow' would have been like if they had done that and they hadn't made Felicity Oliver's main love interest. I remember them saying in interviews back in Season One there were plans for a 'Black Canary' spin off show that is obviously never going to happen now but it is interesting to note Laurel was set to go her own way. I also wonder if Sara being the first Canary was something they always planned or something they added due to all the Katie Cassidy haters hating on Laurel.

From what I remember Sara surviving the sinking of the Queen's Gambit and becoming a member of the League of Shadows was added later. I think she was meant to be a catalyst for Laurel into becoming a vigilante, but as Felicity's popularity took off and attacks n Laurel became popular they changed their plans. They even changed their depiction of Laurel, making her weaker and unable to fight. Which was an insult to fans of her character and fans of the Black Canary.

I think you are right with that and they definitely changed their plans 'cause I have looked back through some old interviews with the showrunners and their plans for Laurel back in Season One are very different than what we ended up getting in the following seasons and it sounds like their original plan was to have Oliver and Laurel as a superhero couple who fought crime together in Star City much like in the comic books but the popularity of Felicity stopped that from happening and I have said before they could have kept Black Canary as Oliver's partner and had them fighting side by side without having them in a relationship but I think Katie Cassidy haters stopped that from happening too and their poor depiction of her becoming the Black Canary where they made her unable to fight. That was by far the silliest thing they done with her and they should have all superheroes be able to fight a little before they become superheroes and not start them off as being useless.

Felicity lovers are deeply insecure about the stability of their ship. They didn't want Laurel around at all, especially not as Black Canary because that put Olicity at risk. The showrunners were more then happy to oblige, but then they tried to reverse course by making Laurel Black Canary but by then too much damage had been done and it didn't work.

I agree with you there and I think that insecurity also creates delusions 'cause it wasn't just Laurel they were threatened over but every other female character they had around Oliver who wasn't related to him like Sara, Samantha, Helena, Talia, Dinah and even Katherine McNamara's new character is coming under fire even though she is in the future 'cause they think they are turning Felicity into a villain so they can have Oliver go off with her or Dinah and I know it is mean but I think it would be hilarious if he ended up with Dinah or Black Siren. That would be their worst nightmare come true.

After Oliver dies they are going to put them in the same grave just to tick off the Olicity fans.

What has everybody's thoughts on the Longbow Hunters been this season? I think they had potential when I first heard they were going to use them but they have been very disappointing so far especially without Killer Moth who could have made them a bigger threat and they made out they were some unstoppable group but they bailed on Ricardo and haven't been seen since then. I am left wondering what was the point of even using them now apart from them just being distractions to taking Ricardo down earlier in the season.

This show really needs to focus on SOMETHING!

This show really needs to focus on SOMETHING! I think what they need is a good villain. That is the main thing that is really missing to me this season and they made it sound like the Longbow Hunters were going to be the big threat this season and it would be Team Arrow fighting them up until the end but they just used them as back up for Ricardo Diaz and we haven't seen them since. I don't get why they don't use Onomatopoeia. They were talking about using the character not long ago after they said before they weren't going to use him but then they said he could work if they used him right but it is looking unlikely he will be used. They should have Talia team up with Lady Shiva and have the League of Assassins and League of Shadows together as the villains for a season and they could have Talia use the Man Bat formula on some of them and turn them into flying demons like she did in the comic books. That would be fun to see.
