May as well make a thread for this too, though I won't sticky the thread or update it's over and over.
It made an estimated $53 million on Friday. The 32rd highest opening day. It's exactly half of Infinity War actually. Up from the originals $47 million though.
The weekend is estimated at $132 million. Exactly the same as the orogorig.

It came in lower at $125 million. The worldwide total is $300 million.
Hopefully Fox are happy with that considering analyst predictions were for a $305-350 million opening.

So it's at $598 million right now.
Domestically it isn't making as much as the first one, I don't think anyone really expected it to either but it's doing pretty well still.
Worldwide it'll probably make a comparable amount to the first.

It looks like it’ll definitely clear $300 million domestically, and will most likely make it to $700 million worldwide. Not bad.

It's only $6 million away from $300 million domestic and $11 million away from $700 million domestic.
It might fall short of the original on both accounts but it held up more than I thought.
Also they're listing the budget at $110 million which is about twice the original.

It's over $700 million now. It's only $76 million off from the last one.

With each movie there is someone that calls out some kind of fatigue with this genre. When a bunch of movies show signs of low box office, then you can say fatigue. When one movie is showing low box office, that is a sign that that movie is not that good or too close and after another movie that everyone also likes (maybe even more).

Good thing DP2 hasn’t even been showing low box office. It’s currently at $700 million worldwide, and that’s without China.

Positive hardly ever does. Hell that's why we have the 24/7 news cycle now. It sprang from the 80's "If it Bleeds it Leads" news. Plus I think there is a very vocal minority out there that wants the Fatigue to set in desperately. For some reason some people think that only Superhero movies are produced now. In 2017 there were 724 movies released in North America. Of those there are 7 bonafide Superhero Movies: Spider-man Home Coming, Justice League, Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy Vo. 2, Logan, Wonder Woman, and Lego Batman Movie. There are three movies that kind fit, but lets include them too: Guardians (Russian made Superhero movie. I've watched it. It's so shitty it's actually kind of funny), Power Rangers, and Captain Underpants. So 10 Super Hero movies out of 724 or 1.3%. People who hate Super Hero movies bitch like that number is around 75%.
