No way the Seekers were as big as The Beach Boys or The Kinks or The Who or Herman's Hermits or The Doors or The Who etc. In the 60s.

No way the Seekers were as big as The Beach Boys or The Kinks or The Who or Herman's Hermits or The Doors or The Who etc. In the 60s. The Seekers was bigger than all of these bands. They actually outsold the Rolling Stones with ease. At one point they where almost as big as The Beatles world wide. I don`t think many people today are actually aware how big The Seekers actually was in the 60s. The Seekers achieved success in the United States, but not nearly at the same level as in the rest of the world. The only band in the 60s that was bigger and sold more albums than The Seekers in the 60s around the world was The Beatles. This may be hard for some people to believe but it's true. I'm not calling you a liar, but do you have a source showing they were the second biggest selling group in the 1960s?

The Seekers were pretty big here in Australia in the 60s and had multiple top 10 hits but I wouldn't say they were as big as the Beach Boys or even the Monkees and the Herman's Hermits for that matter and the Easybeats were bigger and had more number one hits. None of the Seekers songs are still played on radio now as much as 'Friday On My Mind.' That has been named the greatest Australian song of all time in books, magazines and music shows and was a classic.
