Cons - The scenes with Butch and Fabienne following his fight grind the film to a halt. I do love it when he fucking loses it over the watch being left behind. Tarantino the actor
Pros - Just about everything else works very well.

Pros: clever homages to other films; oddball characters; soundtrack
Cons: dragged out dialogue (a Tarantino hallmark); presentation of violence as cool and fun

presentation of violence as cool and fun I do laugh when Marcellus accidentally shoots that women in the leg. Dark, yes I know. Marvin's death is made hilarious by Vincent's initial reaction.

Pros - It's aged beautifully. Most 90's films still feel like they were trying too hard, PF is a reminder not everything 90's was so f'n insecure about the 90's. It looks & feels older than most 90's movies I know, & yet 1994 is right there in front of us. - Everyone seems to both win & lose? I dunno, there's a nice balance to it all. - Soundtrack, writing, direction, the out of chrono order, etc.
Cons - It probably lingers too long with some stretches- the taxi driver, & while Christopher Walken is genius, his story does slow down repeat viewings for me.
It's my #38 all time, Reservoir Dogs my #34 for context.

Cons - Led to an explosion of obnoxious wannabe Tarantino knockoffs from the mid nineties to the 2000s.

Pros: The only entertaining scene is the black comedy scene beginning with the boxer finding the gun and ending with the pawn shop. That probably should be the entire movie.
There is a "pro" about the idea of the film, which is kids from the seventies imagining the world of the nineties that they grow up into, where everyone is either a boxer, a mobster, or some other glamor role for a boy to aspire to, where everyone carries a weapon. There was always that one kid that turned make believe into the black comedy scene. The allusions to the seventies, where there are more clotheslines than signs, with the rotary phones, with the retro music people would listen to and sing along with, is well done in telling us this is a fantasy world for kids playing.
Cons: The rest of the movie sucks. There is no motivation for the mobsters. They're just acting like they think they're cool. The scenes with the two boring mobster hit men played by Jackson and Travolta don't work one iota and needed to be cut out. They're completely bubble boy style. The brainwashing that mobsters are perfect in confrontations and victims can shoot a million bullets in a closed room without even scratching two mobsters is totally mob propaganda to keep the minions in their place. Too much right wing demonic black magic at work in the making of that scene, but I think Tarantino actually pokes fun at the very dweebs who eat up this sort of crap.

Pros: Only a director like Tarantino can make long, talky scenes so entertaining because of his writing talent for quirky dialogue. The soundtrack. The pop culture and classic cinema references. The visual style of it all. Tarantino's ability to make a three hour movie feel like it's not three hours long.
Cons: Well, the only con I can think of is Tarantino's acting. It's mediocre at best.

Cons...most of the Butch Fabienne stuff is meh. Actually Butchs story in general is probably the weakest part of the film. A lot of it is still good but Fabienne overall is pretty annoying and I never liked the Esmeralda stuff. It felt like it should’ve been in a different movie. The sequencing can be off putting for a first time viewer.
Pros...Most of everything else. Great dialog, solid acting, interesting characters in interesting stories.

Cons- all style, no substance. A favourite of dipshits. Scratch the surface and there’s very little there. That’s what you get from a writer who spent his whole life in his lounge room.

Do you know what divine intervention is? No, what? It means that god came down from heaven and stopped the bullets.

It means that god came down from heaven and stopped the bullets. Oh yeah, I remember that part. Seems a bit silly for an otherwise gritty and realistic film.
