I can cut and paste links into a thread, but I can't get the link to open up in the thread.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Only the link sticks. The text of the link can't be read by anyone unless they open it up.

Only the link sticks. The text of the link can't be read by anyone unless they open it up. Links won't do that automatically. When somebody posts an article, they are manually copying information from the link. For example, if I link to the Washington Post, www.washingtonpost.com/. That's all you get. If I want to post the top story blurb, I have to do it manually by going to the page and selecting the text, copying it, and adding it to my response: Certain links will display their content, such as Twitter:
But that is an exception.

Meaning I have to print it out? Yes. You have a printer, right? What the holy hell? Copy and paste are computer terms. No printer is needed.

I was thinking the OP meant posting a link so instead of the URL it displays as chosen text that is clickable to take you to the article, but I guess not.

idk @nxnwrocks ... i have come across quite a few either simple minded people or whackodoodles on v2 lately. I suppose that's possible. Copy and paste is such a basic concept it's hard to believe anybody using a forum wouldn't know what it means or at least heard about it, though. I guess if that's the case, I'll explain it very quickly. If you click your mouse cursor over text, click and hold the left mouse button, and drag the cursor to the left or right, it will become highlighted. You can then copy that text by pressing the Ctrl and C key at the same time on a PC or the Command and C key on a Mac. This will store it in memory in what's called a "buffer". You can go to any other site, window, or whatever from there; it will remain stored until you copy something else. You can then recall that text or "paste" it by pressing Ctrl and V at the same time on a PC or the Command and V key on a Mac. If you are in a text window (such as where you write your forum posts), this will put the text you copied earlier into that window.

I can not post images cut/paste to this board. I have asked Apple and they proved that the cut/paste or e-mail an image works. So it is NOT my iMAC. They said it was your website.
I have asked other posters to do it for me and it works when they do it.
WHY?
