1. Is it going to kill us? 2. Should I cancel my swimming lesson on Friday? 3. Will the MLB season still start in April, or is that cancelled? 4. Can I still have my dinner party on Sunday evening? 5. Is the world as we know it going to end?
Why should we be worried about global warming? Some of us have children and grand children, the long term future of the environment is important to us. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the forum inhabitants (or at least the previous forum) to see, of those who call bunk on climate change, how many have kids.

Yes thank you. Apparently the OP I was answering.
Well excuse the fuck me! Nope, I'm Negan, I've always been Negan. I just didn't know it and it needed me to meet you to make me realise... I'm Negan! Your evidence that the OP is Blade is________? Who or what is a Negan?

Your evidence that the OP is Blade is________? Who or what is a Negan? This looks like a fun game we used to do in school: Amirite? We are all Negan!

Your evidence that the OP is Blade is________? So you have no evidence that the OP is Blade? I am not surprised.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the forum inhabitants (or at least the previous forum) to see, of those who call bunk on climate change, how many have kids. That comparison would not work in your favour! Seriously!

Why should we be worried about global warming? 1. It just might. There are massive holes cropping up in Siberia, and they realized they were being caused by gas. Long dormant methane suddenly exposed when the ice melted away. There are fears that there are deadly levels of gas just waiting to kill us all, as well as scary ass bacteria, hiding under dwindling layers of ice!!!!

Some of us have children and grand children, the long term future of the environment is important to us. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the forum inhabitants (or at least the previous forum) to see, of those who call bunk on climate change, how many have kids. I would guess a negative correlation! It makes no sense though, even if you are sceptical of the science (which there's really no reason to be, but whatever) is it really worth gambling on? Also, you get the benefit of clean energy, surely they don't doubt that emissions from petrol and diesel engines are toxic. Plus it will hopefully undermine the power and influence of the oil producing countries and their toxic effects on us all, I'd love to tell the Saudis, Texans etc to FOAD.

I have an idea: All climate change deniers should move to Peru. After all, if global warming is a hoax, then the consequences of it surely are too? ABC News: Flood in Peru

I have a book on my shelf - Climate Change, Emily Boyd and Emma L Tompkins. Haven't read it in a while but is a very interesting read. As you state what's the loss on gambling on clean energy and removing or diluting the power of those who hold it because of energy reserves?

1. Is it going to kill us? Probably not? Is that the only time you think caution should be exercised? 2. Should I cancel my swimming lesson on Friday? No. 3. Will the MLB season still start in April, or is that cancelled? What does it have to do with that? 4. Can I still have my dinner party on Sunday evening? Yes 5. Is the world as we know it going to end? What is the world as you know it? Where do you live?
Why should we be worried about global warming? It might result in some non-reversable effects. But really, while I believe humans are having an effect on the global climate and it is like to have adverse effects, I also know that in general, we're too selfish and stupid to do anything other than hold meetings and flagellate each other. Knocking off 10% of carbon emissions here and there isn't going to do anything. The carbon locked up in fossil fuels is WHY we have an environment conducive for the kind of life we enjoy. It's really just chemistry.
I say, use it up, enjoy ourselves because I doubt global warming is what's going to be our undoing. It'll be either a series of mega volcanoes, asteroid strikes or some fast evolving virus.

"The land is for the living" ~Thomas Jefferson People who use concern for the future of their kids as an excuse are fooling themselves. Humans just don't think that way. Evolution hasn't wired us for long term goal setting. Your kids are a rationalization, and a silly one. It's easy to prove. Has global warming caused us to tend more toward saving rather than spending? General Electric is making a killing on green consumer goods. Suddenly it's not so obvious that you are taking cold showers and riding a bike to work on behalf of their future environment. It's much more likely you're doing it as a purely selfish act, polishing your own ego. This is what religious people do when they condemn themselves to lives of modesty. How else could someone be so smug as to think that belief in a technical issue like global warming ought rightly to do with the empathy that comes from having kids? Empathy is up there with self esteem as the biggest problem with modern temperaments. We have too much empathy. We aren't able to distance ourselves from a situation and analyze it objectively. You mentioned reason, yet your post if devoid of it. It's full of emotion. You're not rebelling against Texans. You're a slut for BP. The rest is marketing.

Colorado State University expects 14 named storms, six hurricanes and two major hurricanes this season.
NOAA expects 11 to 17 named storms this season, more than the 30-year average for the Atlantic Basin.
The Weather Company predicts 14 named storms, seven hurricanes and three major hurricanes this season.
Warmer North Atlantic sea surface temperatures and the reduced likelihood of El Niño's development are among the factors taken into account.
Irma and Jose send their regards.

Why should we be worried about global warming? 1. Maybe. It'll probably kill your kids 2. No unless you hate to swim 3. If there's money to be made, it'll start on time 4. Yes 5. As we know it? Probably.

oh i dunno. maybe some of us actually care about the world we live in. and aren't just looking to systematically rape every resource as we plunder each other's sovereignty. I'm looking for replies from sane people only. Thanks though. No you're not. Your question implies that you yourself are insane. Therefore, it necessities an insane answer! Suffice to say that if you can't figure out why the answer is both "1" and "5" on your own, then why are you concerned about other people's concerns? Ignorance is bliss, so you should be very happy not knowing theoretically.
