This is just another ploy for Disney to take another hugely popular title and add gay characters like Beauty and the Beast.

What is the guess this will flop especially if they add a gay character?

I guess Jafar will finally get to come out of the closet then.

I guess Jafar will finally get to come out of the closet then. Their agenda would never allow a gay villain. The Genie will be gay.

This is just another ploy for Disney to take another hugely popular title and add gay characters like Beauty and the Beast. No doubt. they're doing it with everything these days. And people say there's no LGBT agenda going on in tv and film.

And Aladdin's supposed to be a Chinese dude not Middle Eastern Cue the moviegoers pissed off that a character is NOT Arab for once.

So far, I have not liked any of the live action remakes over the animated versions...
I have only seen the original a couple of times...
I will not see the live action version...
I wish they would just stop doing these remakes.

Wooow that's interesting for so many reasons.
First starting with Director Guy Ritchie who is very good and knows how to entretain but he has never made a musical and 2nd he is famous for not being faithful to his source material. He always turns all his stories in his own creations so who knows what he will do with Aladdin.
2nd an open casting for the actors, this is very scary for The Box Office how will they sell it without a famous face? Will the big names only appear on the supporting cast maybe Jafar will be the only famous actor.m
This is exciting and scary at the same time films like this have never been with all new Commers, Cinderella sort of was for people who don't watch many series but every Game of thrones fans knew Kit was Rob Stark and Cate Blanchet was the evil stepmother. Im scared for them not going with famous actors and the big risks Guy Ritchie makes.

Of all the Disney cartoon that could be remade in live-action, this is one I've always wanted to see....

How can they do this without Robin Williams? I can't imagine anyone else playing Genie. This is disappointing. I loved Cinderella, and I'm hopeful for B&B, but I was really hoping they'd leave this one alone. How about a kick-ass Alice in Wonderland (a recreation of the 51' film, and not like Burton's sequel disguised under the same name)? What about the Aristocats or Lady and the Tramp?

Oh, and Guy Ritchie is directing? This is just a recipe for disaster.

I always wanted to see The Little Mermaid live... While Disney is making a TLM reboot, that isn't it.

Can you think of an actor that could step into that role? Honestly, I love Aladdin, and a live version remake sounds intriguing (I loved the live action Cinderella and Jungle Book, and I'm hopeful for B&B), but this idea needed to die when Robin did.
