I went to a local comic-con this past weekend and there were several women doing cosplay as SpiderGwen and the costumes wear made out of that ultra tight stuff that they make yoga pants or leggings (or whatever they're called) out of and they looked great! They were better than 90% of bulky restrictive looking costumes in the MCU. Hollywood could take some lessons. Personally I think with the likes of SpiderGwen, Spider Woman and Silk their costumes should match what they wear in the comic books now much like Spider-Man's costumes have in most of the movies. They are not revealing costumes like some other female superheroes have worn over the years and there are a lot of young girls who are wearing SpiderGwen costumes now that are the same so if they turn around and change it completely for movies or TV Shows I think it is sexist and I am still quite annoyed how they didn't have Saturn Girl in her colours in 'Supergirl' last season and the proper Saturn Girl costume. From the pictures I have seen of the 'Birds of Prey' movie the Huntress costume looks disappointing and I see no reason why she couldn't have worn this. I would wear this over the crappy costume they have given her. The new costume they have given her looks like the proto Spider costume in 'Spider-Man' compared to the proper costume.

I agree. If an actress doesn't like the look of actual superhero costumes they should not audition for the role. I personally don't see the big deal. Sex appeal is part of entertainment and always has been. Every man that played Tarzan had to run around in a loin clothe for crying out loud. Actual superhero "tights" that allow the flexibility that a superhero needs should not be a problem for anyone.
Heck some of the women at my local gym wear sexier stuff than most superheroine costumes. It seems like it is just the self proclaimed do-gooders in the press and on the internet that complain about such things.

Yeah, there is no way The Gifted will continue since Marvel Studios is taking over and recreating everything X-Men related. Thanks for posting that stargazer1682 . That is very disappointing and as taylorfirst1 pointed out I knew Marvel were planning on rebuilding the 'X Men' Universe from scratch but Kevin Feige has said that isn't going to happen for sometime so I think it was really slack of Disney cancelling the show and not giving it one last season to wrap things up. From what I have heard they have also cancelled 'Legion' and a lot of the Marvel shows have been cancelled now and 'The Runaways' recently got renewed and 'Cloak and Dagger' is returning soon but apart from those two 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' is the only one still going. It is surprising given how successful Marvel have been with Marvel their track record with TV Shows has been so bad compared to DC and they have 'Hawkfire' and 'Scarlet Witch' TV Shows coming but eerrr they have already been mostly played out in the movies and I would rather see new characters that haven't been on screen yet or proper 'X Men' and 'Fantastic Four' TV Shows instead of movies like we had 'Superman' and 'Batman' in the past. Those could be awesome with the right writers and if you look back at some of the old articles about Fox developing 'X Men' shows before they announced 'The Gifted' and 'Legion' the way they were talking they were making a proper 'X Men' TV Show and they could have done that and still kept doing the movies and it would have finally given us a chance to see a lot of the other X Men that haven't been on screen yet.
I will say I think Sony's TV Spiderverse has the biggest chances of having the most successful Marvel TV Shows ever made. They are in a position now where they can launch a TV Universe similar to what DC has with the Arrowverse and have TV Shows of SpiderGwen, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Spider Woman, The Prowler, Silk, Venom, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man Noir, Nightwatch etc and instead of doing what DC and Marvel have largely done not limit their characters to movies only and they have a heap of villains they can use too. They just need the right writers. With the right writers it could be hugely successful on TV. Sony Planning Spider-Man Universe TV Shows Within Next Decadescreenrant.com/spider-man-universe-tv-shows-development/ I don't think Disney cancelled the shows, I think Fox did, the channel isn't being sold to Disney that's staying with Murdoch, Disney got the FX channels, as Disney owning 2 of the big 4 or 5 networks in the US probably violated monopoly laws or whatever it is called, so it would be Murdoch's people cancelling The Gifted & Legion, and we don't know Disney maybe able to revive the series somehow.
I disagree about Hakeye & Scarlet Witch, I don't see how they have had their stories play out as additional members of the Avengers films, it's not like Scarlet Witch who has had a notable presence in a few stand alone movies as well as having a significant story in one of the Avengers films themselves, I mean Hawkeye has been in literally 3 films, one of which was a cameo, another he was mind controlled for 80% of the movie and the last one we saw a mere glimpse into his character, he is perfect for a series as his character isn't going to be developed in the films, also the story from what I hear is him passing the mantle of Hawkeye to his protégé, as for SW she's been in 3 films also had a little bit of development but most of it off screen, a Wanda & Vision series is again something we wont get in the movies so it could be really interesting to see, plus these are meant to be hooks to get people to sign up for the service hence having series about the movie characters with the movie stars playing them, be patient we will get more characters later on.
Also we could get X-Men or F4 sooner as all Feige can say is what he plans on doing, Marvel TV which the Disney shows are not a part of, they are part of Marvel Studios, so Marvel TV could develop a X-Men or F4 or any other series for traditional TV for all we know.
Anyone find it funny how impatient we all get now though? I mean we have a Titans, Doom Patrol, YJ, Swamp Thing, Star Girl, Green Arrow, LOT, Flash, Black Lightning, Supergirl, Runaways, Cloak & Dagger, AOS, Lucifer, Preacher, 2 X-Men, Harley, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Gotham shows not to mention iZombie all within the last 12 months and yet we moan for more...remember the days when a one shot appearance on Smallville of a character seemed to be enough to make do with? that being said Disney bring back The Gifted you mouse eared mother fuckers, I want it, I Want It, I WANT IT!!

Oh okay. I thought Disney must have been behind the axing of the show ‘cause they now own X-Men but I looked into it and you were right and Fox is the ones behind the cancelling of ‘The Gifted’ and it looks like when Disney had finished doing their deal with Fox for X Men, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and other Marvel characters Fox decided it didn’t want ‘The Gifted’ anymore and cancelled it which is really slack and unfair to us fans of the show. According to some articles I have been reading such as the one below there is a chance the show could be saved and added to Disney’s online streaming service and hopefully that happens ‘cause even though we most likely won’t get to see it here for a while I think they will release it here in Australia in some shape or form eventually and Disney might release their shows on DVD like Netflix has been doing.
I can see that happening with a show like ‘the Mandalorian’ for example ‘cause it is ‘Star Wars’ and a lot of fans will want to get it in other countries outside of North America and do you know if you are going to be getting the Disney Streaming Service in the UK Dazz? I have heard ‘The Mandalorian’ will be on Netflix here in Australia and it is not officially confirmed but seeing though we are going to get all of the upcoming DC Universe shows like ‘Stargirl’ and ‘Swamp Thing’ on Netflix I can definitely see it happening in the near future. Beccy and I would like to get both the Disney and DC Universe but it might be a few years before we get any streaming services like that in Australia 'cause we have been behind with a lot of other things here. You make good points about Hakeye & Scarlet Witch and we have not got to see much of them in the movies and I heard the 'Hawkeye' show is going to have Kate Bishop so that will be one new character Marvel will be bringing to screen but I want to see other characters from the comic books more. Bring on Elsa Bloodstone so we can have a new Horror show similar to Buffy.
The 'Silver Surfer' could be an interesting character to bring to TV or Disney's Online Streaming Service 'cause we have hardly seen the character in live action and having a solo show would give them a chance to focus on him more outside of just appearing in a 'Fantastic Four' movie. The Silver Surfer has had success as a solo superhero in comic books and did you know he was the character Stan Lee wanted to see get their own movie the most? We are impatient now with not just comic book TV Shows but with comic book movies and we had nowhere near as many of them as we have now back in the 80s and 90s. Ohh and then there are 'Wynonna Earp', 'Van Helsing' and 'Happy' which are comic book shows too.

Sex appeal has always been a big part of entertainment and looking at the male actors who are playing superheroes now it is no coincidence a lot of their names are featured very high on the 'Sexiest Man Alive' lists and a lot of the success of the 'Thor' movies has been thanks to on Chris Hemworth and I don't think the movies would be as successful had they gone with Triple H for the role who said he was one of the frontrunners for the role when they were making the first movie. We call them prudes here and they are very annoying and they have banned us from wearing sexy clothes into some clubs and bikinis at some public pools here 'cause they claim we excite teenage boys too much while guys can swim around in speedos. My main problem with female superhero costumes in movies and TV shows is there is no doubting some of them are overly revealing and would look silly in live action but there are also a lot that aren't and it annoys me when they don't let actresses wear those costumes.

I think you will find there are a lot of actresses that wouldn't have a problem wearing the costumes for the movies. While some female superhero costumes were overly revealing and would look out of place in live action there are a lot of them in the comic books that aren't too and they often get unfairly overlooked when people are criticising the other costumes. Wonder Woman's new costume for 'Wonder Woman 1984' looks almost like a knockoff off the full body armoured costumes Sara Pezzini and Danielle Baptiste were wearing in the second half of 'Witchblade' except it is gold. It is a shame they don't give as much respect to the colours female superheroes wear as male superheroes and what they have Mary Elizabeth Winstead wearing is more revealing than the Huntress costume I posted before.
