My maiden name was likely changed when my people came into America. But we (America) did it a lot to people. The government grunt was tired or wasn't going to even try to spell some long name. My father's people came over around 1850. My mother's people were here by 1700, predating Ellis Island. One of them actually ran for political office in New York

Ok, her father so his mom went with unusual first names like naming his brother Napoleon Bonaparte (Smith). Grandmother was from an established east coast family-her father had several houses, but she was disowned for marrying the wrong guy. She did leave him later when she discovered he hadn't divorced his first wife as he had told her, but her father didn't take her back. She them married my grandfather, but separated from him before mom was 5. Meaning yeah, fiercely independent. Never bothered marrying again after that. Did laundry during WWII while doing a correspondence course in nursing to be able to provide for her kids

A 12 year old kid would be too embarrassed to write shit like that for a homework assignment.

My mom's brother married my dad's half sister, but they didnt know. My dad's mom married his dad for like 5 minutes-divorced when he was a baby & married someone else who he grew up believing to be his dad. It was only when he joined the Navy for the Korean War that they told him to pay the court fee to change his name, use the name on his birth certificate or face court marshall. He switched to the birth certificate name. When my aunt's patents visited, we weren't allowed to go over, even though we lived just down the street & played with our cousins almost daily. Aunt Rita, the woman dad's birth father married, was that insecure so while my actual birth grandfather was around, we weren't allowed to see him. When he died dad took us to the funeral & Rita said how she had been so horrible to us all those years, could we forgive her, i said sure. I didnt know him, he was a body in a box thanks to her selfishness. I knew the other man, the one who brought my dad up, as my grandfather. But i haven't found too many cousins who can claim such a relationship. I had a sister, but my aunt & uncle had 4 boys so they were almost like brothers

Seriously......fuck right off, you pathetic hacks!!!! Jeez...is that really in there?! Pathetic. That's exactly the kind of writing I don't like about these new movies. Han is a street kid, part of a gang of thieves. Think Fagin/Oliver Twist. Lady Proxima takes in runaways & orphans, using them in her crime syndicate. Han mentions having a dad, but not getting along. He was stealing vehicles at age 10 in the slums of Corellia so he likely chose to abandon his last name if he ever had one. When they are escaping Corellia, Han & Qi'ra (who also has no last name so maybe its a thing on Corellia), they lack the identity chips needed to get off world so they try buying their way off world with some stolen coaxium, but Qi'ra is captured. The authorities/Lady Proxima's goons are searching for Han, so he heads over to a recruiting desk for the Empire wsnting to join up as a pilot. The conversation is between the recruiter & Han. The Empire needs bodies. The Recruiters have likely been directed to enlist all the cannon fodder they can. The recruiter types in Han Solo. The computer accepts it. That's all that matters to the Empire. It's likely not dissimilar to the way so many boys who were not old enough to join the military during WWII managed to enroll. The need for bodies to fight & die.

I have a pair of aunts I never met that I only know the story because pictures were ripped in half & taped back together so of course enquiring minds want to know. Mom said the favored daughter had an affair "with an Italian" & took off to Texas with him, leaving the daughter who could do no right in grandma's eyes her husband & kids, including the baby from the Italian. When the fling fell apart "good daughter" wanted the hubby & kids back Nope. "Bad daughter" had always wanted her sister's hubby so...pictures got ripped by my grandmother.

Yes, let's petition to have Lucas write them again instead. Ron Howard knows Lucas. Lucas dropped by the set of Solo, dude. Gave him a tip. This is probably as close as you will get to Lucas being involved. He describes Lucas telling him about SW on the set of American Graffiti & then Lucas visiting the set of Solo.
